Assessment
At Windang Public School, assessment guides learning by helping us understand each student’s starting point, track progress, and plan the next steps. Teachers use a balanced approach, combining regular in-class check-ins with formal assessments aligned to the NSW syllabus and the school’s Assessment Schedule.
In English and Mathematics, we use a variety of tools, including DIBELS and Essential Assessment, alongside consistent teacher judgement. Students also participate in NAPLAN and NSW Check-in assessments, providing insights into learning growth at state and national levels.
Assessment informs instruction, guides flexible groupings, and ensures every student is known, valued, and achieving.
