Wellbeing

At Windang Public School, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by The Windang Way and our whole-school SURF ValuesSafe Always, United in Learning, Respectful and Co-operative, Fair in Work and Play — we create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, connected and ready to learn.

Positive relationships, high expectations and a shared commitment to personal best underpin our approach to teaching and learning. Students participate in social-emotional learning programs and structured play experiences that build resilience, confidence and emotional intelligence.

In line with NSW Department of Education attendance guidelines, we recognise that regular school attendance is essential for student wellbeing, engagement and learning success. We actively promote the importance of attending school every day, closely monitor attendance, and work in partnership with families to address barriers through early intervention and targeted support.

Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to identify and respond to individual student needs through case management, targeted interventions, and partnerships with families and external agencies. Leadership opportunities, peer support programs and student voice initiatives further empower students to take ownership of their learning and wellbeing.

At Windang Public School, we believe that happy, healthy and confident learners — who attend school regularly — are best equipped to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
