Feedback
At Windang Public School, feedback is an essential part of learning and helps students understand where they are up to and what they can do next. Teachers provide clear, timely and purposeful feedback so students know what they are learning, why it matters, and how they can improve.
Students are encouraged to think about their own learning and respond to feedback. Teachers ask students questions such as:
• What are you learning and why?
• How are you going with your learning?
• How do you know, and what can you do to improve?
• Where can you go for help?
These conversations support students to reflect, make adjustments to their work, set goals, and take increasing responsibility for their learning.
Families play an important role in the feedback process. Parents and carers are encouraged to ask questions such as:
• What is my child learning?
• How is my child going and how do we know?
• How can my child improve and how can I support learning at home?
• When will we check in again?
Families receive feedback through reports, parent-teacher interviews, and ongoing communication. This shared approach helps families understand their child’s progress and next steps, ensuring every student feels supported, confident, and proud of their growth.
